Back by popular demand following their brilliant performances two years ago, the musicians of East of the River return with Medieval and Renaissance music that traces the Sephardic voyages through North Africa and the Ottoman Empire.

Music for home life, the prayer meeting, the dance, and the public squares of Morocco, Turkey, and the Balkans will transport you to another time and place, led by two of the world’s great recorder virtuosi, Daphna Mor and Nina Stern, against a backdrop of infectious Eastern rhythms by famed percussionist and collaborator John Hadfield.

Guest artist Kane Mathis adds to the unique flavor of the ensemble with his Turkish oud and 21-string Mandinka harp, making this a concert not to be missed!
